Roasting Gesha

This week, we’re bringing you another video detailing our approach to roasting coffee. This time around, we’ve got a phenomenal Gesha varietal from the Volcan Azul farm in Costa Rica.

In this video, you can hear about our approach to profiling, as well as gaining insight into the data and measurements we used to define this roast. As always, this roast was completed using a Loring Smart Roaster and the measurements were taken using LightTells moisture and density readers.

We visited the farm to speak with Alejo earlier this year, so make sure to look back through our video catalogue to learn more about how this coffee was cultivated and processed. If you have any additional questions, make sure to list them in the comment section below.

For those interested in the data, you can find the information below:

– 10:25 Total
– 1:02 Dev Time
– 208.4°C End Temp
– 13,9 Top RoR
– 5,3 Crack RoR
– 3,8 End RoR
– 89,7 Inner Colour
– 69 Outer Colour
– 9.5% Green Coffee Moisture
– 696g/L Green Coffee Density

We’re always interested in hearing what topics you’re most curious to hear us discuss, and social media is a great way of reaching out to us if you would like to make a request.

We welcome your thoughts and feelings on the topics raised in this weeks video, as well as other ideas you would like to see us discuss in the future. We really appreciate your feedback and support.
